Ease of use: NU-CONcept recommends the Standard pre-filtered sunglasses for those people who do not want to gimmick their own sunglasses or for those people who don't have blue/grey/smoke, lightly tinted, flash mirror sunglasses readily available. Be aware that the NU-CONcept Luminous Enhancing Sunglasses ($119) with a luminous filter "built-into" the lenses will provide clearer and easier to read luminous marks because you do not have to look through the luminous filter AND the normal tint of regular sunglasses.
Disadvantages of applying a filter to standard sunglasses:
Care must be taken when cleaning your filtered sunglasses because the filter is attached "TO" the lens or the filter may be removed and re-applied after you clean your sunglasses.
Works best in medium to brightly lit environments. This is because you are taking the luminous filter and applying it BEHIND tinted sunglasses which have a tint of their own. There should be no surprise that having BOTH a luminous filter AND the natural tint of sunglasses will require more illumination in the room to see the marks because the double tint (i.e. sunglass lens AND filter) makes the sunglasses very dark.
NU-CONcept's patented Luminous Enhancing Sunglasses overcomes these limitations.
In May 2006, NU-CONcept released Luminous Enhancing Sunglasses with "built-in" filters. These normally sell for $119. However, if you purchase the NU-CONcept Luminous kit AND the Luminous Enhancing Sunglasses as an optional "add-on" then there is a $20 discount. Therefore, your total cost will be $208 vs. $228, if purchased separately. (Don't forget, there is free shipping on all domestic USA orders.)
