However, you will find that the optional NU-CONcept Luminous Enhancing Sunglasses with "built-in" filter will provide you will clearer, easier to read luminous marks under a wider range of lighting conditions than any "attached" filter can provide.

In May 2006, NU-CONcept introduced, as an option,  NU-CONcept Luminous Enhancing Sunglasses with the filter "built-into" strong polycarbonate lenses. The filter built INTO the Luminous Enhancing Sunglass lenses are slightly different from the filter provided which is normally provided with the Luminous Marker kit. This is because the Luminous Enhancing Sunglasses allow you to look directly through the filter vs. looking through a filter AND your normal sunglass lenses. Since the Luminous Enhancing Sunglasses allow you to look directly through the luminous filter, the filter did not have to be altered to compensate for normal sunglasses lens tints. Therefore, the Luminous Enhancing Sunglass lenses will always be superior vs. looking through regular sunglasses that have an attached filter.

During normal indoor or outdoor viewing, the Luminous Enhancing Sunglasses sunglasses provide a comfortable blue/grey tint. You control seeing the marks simply by looking through the lens at the "correct" location which will not interfere with your normal vision.

Luminous technology evolution

Origin of luminous marked cards:

Advantages:

Originally, luminous marked cards were invented by gamblers who wanted to cheat at poker, blackjack, rummy, bridge or any other card game. They discovered that special lenses could be designed to filter very specific frequencies of light which allow luminous marks to appear on the back of cards when playing cards are viewed with with the naked eye through the lens.

Disadvantages:

Because very specific frequencies of light need to be filtered, the original luminous sunglasses appeared to have an odd red color which tended to draw attention to the person wearing these sunglasses. Another problem with these early sunglasses was that the world appeared colored, which was very annoying to the wearer of the filtered sunglasses.

Some people even made visors with this same filter in an attempt to be more unobtrusive and to avoid having to look through the annoying filter all of the time.

For years NU-CONcept customers have been using regular sunglasses and the special luminous filter. However, in 2006, NU-CONcept brought to the marketplace another advance in luminous technology. Using the same patented luminous marker/pen you no longer have to gimmick regular sunglasses. NU-CONcept has machine manufactured the filter directly INTO the lenses vs. manually attaching the filter ONTO the sunglass lenses.

Note: The filtered Luminous Enhancing Sunglasses are comfortable to wear indoors or outdoors because the filter is positioned so it does not interfere with your normal vision. You only need duplicate unfiltered sunglasses if you think that people may be suspicious.

If you supply NU-CONcept with your own frames, NU-CONcept and the lab cannot be responsible for damage to your frames. The lab will evaluate all customer supplied frames and fit the lenses on a "best effort" basis. However, due to potential hairline structural defects which are not apparent until actual lens mounting occurs, NU-CONcept cannot guarantee results with customer supplied frames. NU-CONcept's competition:

As you can see from the photos above, NU-CONcept products have a more contemporary style and are designed in such a way that your view of the world will not appear red while filtering the frequencies of light that are required to see luminous elements. The majority of each NU-CONcept lens is a comfortable blue/grey/smoke tint which does not distort your vision (photo above).
